The Turnaround
The company had existed since the 1960s and was a true family business operating in the environmental sector. When we entered the picture, the company was showing declining sales and had major profitability issues. There were also personnel problems, and the finance department was not functioning satisfactorily.
We began by interviewing the owner and asking about his vision for the company. The owner realized that major changes were required, and it was decided that a new CEO would be appointed.
Currently, the company shows significant surpluses and has increased its turnover to unprecedented heights. The company’s workforce has largely been replaced, and the finance function can deliver accurate reports to support management.
The Structuring
We were brought into the company at an early stage. The company had only existed for a few years and was operating in a relatively untapped market. The company’s founders consisted of four individuals who could not decide or agree on what structure the company should have. Interviews were conducted with the owners to arrive at an optimal structure regarding the division of labor and responsibility.
A few years later, the company won its class in Dagens Industri’s Gazelle Company competition. Today, the company has approximately 100 employees and is present in several European countries.
